In compliance with federal guidelines, Nintendo does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Children under age 13 can only have a Nintendo Account if they are added to an existing Nintendo Account by a parent or guardian.

Once you complete the registration process, you can add Nintendo Accounts for up to 5 children to your account, and manage the settings for each child that you add.

  • You can deactivate a primary Nintendo Switch console through the settings on the console itself.
  • If you don't have access to the primary console, you can deactivate a console from your Nintendo Account remotely; however, this can only be done once per year.
